FRISCO, Texas — Sure, the ÃÛÌÒTV are eliminated from playoff contention, but if the way the beat up on Baker Mayfield is any indication, they couldn't care less. And given Micah Parsons' recent, ahem, scathing commentary toward the Philadelphia Eagles, you can bet he and the defense are looking to stay in full Grinch mode in the first Cowboys' game following Christmas.
What also works for Dallas is how backup quarterback Cooper Rush looked in the victory last weekend — more comfortable and confident as he pushed the issue downfield more than usual en route to helping an injured CeeDee Lamb add two more records to his NFL resume.
The Cowboys are 4-1 in their last five games, warming up on offense and scorching hot on defense.
Will this continue in Philly, but without Lamb?
WHEN AND WHERE:
Date: Sunday, December, 29
Time: Noon CT
Location: Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia, PA)
What this game will ultimately boil down to is two teams that hate each other with every ounce of their being, and with one, the Eagles, needing the win to help their bid for the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoff bracket while the Cowboys play fast and loose in their villain arc.
Personnel-wise, the Cowboys are decimated and the Eagles are far from it. Record-wise, it's not even a contest. Location-wise, the edge goes to Philly for being in their own backyard.
And while that's all true, it may not matter at all, as Dallas has a very real chance of marching into The Linc and snatching chains (see what I did there?).
Nothing about this game is meaningless, folks.
