Top 10: Where Zeke Fits on Dallas All-Time RB List
While No. 1 is rather obvious, who falls behind Emmitt Smith on the Cowboys' Top 10 list of running backs, including Ezekiel Elliott, who has been rather productive in two years.

Marion Barber was the workhorse in the Cowboys offense during their run to three playoff appearances in four seasons from 2006 through 2009, along with scoring 47 career touchdowns during his six seasons, third all-time for the Cowboys.

Daryl Johnston did all the dirty work at fullback, leading the way for Emmitt Smith to become the NFL's all-time leading rusher. If you don't believe he belongs in the Top 10, just ask Emmitt.

Duane Thomas might have been a pain in Tom Landry's side, but created an undeniable one-two punch in the backfield with Calvin Hill, leading the Cowboys in rushing during the 1970 and 1971 Super Bowl seasons.

Most tend to forget just how good Calvin Hill was during his six seasons with the Cowboys, leading them in rushing four times, and an integral part in leading the Cowboys to their first Super Bowl victory in 1971.

Herschel Walker was with the Cowboys only 3½ seasons the first time around, but his value might have been highest in the trade to Minnesota in 1989 that brought the Cowboys three players and a slew of draft choices that stocked those three Super Bowl teams.

DeMarco Murray set the franchise single-season rushing record in 2014 with 1,845 yards, helping lead that team to a 12-4 record and last playoff victory.

Ezekiel Elliott: OK, he's only played two seasons, but his production and his talent make him one of the Cowboys' best with room to grow.

Don Perkins was the heart and soul of the Cowboys offense for his eight seasons in the NFL, leading the club in rushing all eight seasons. Old-timers insist he is one of the best backs in history of Cowboys, and still ranks third all-time with 6,217 rushing yards.

Tony Dorsett is the NFL's ninth all-time leading rusher with 12,036 and is second all-time in franchise history behind only Emmitt. Say no more again.

Emmitt Smith is the NFL's all-time leading rusher with 18,355 yards and also his 165 rushing touchdowns are the most in NFL history. Say no more.

Honorable Mention: Walt Garrison was the forerunner to Daryl Johnston, one of the NFL's best fullbacks in the NFL and the guy who kept those late 1960s and early '70s teams loose. As a fullback, his career average-per-carry of 4.32 yards is third in club history.
HM: Julius Jones always undervalued on those playoff teams in 2006 and 2007, working hard to get the Cowboys inside the five-yard line but then forced to step aside for Marion Barber at touchdown time.
HM: The late Robert Newhouse is another one of those do-all fullbacks instrumental to the success of Tony Dorsett, and who can forget his fullback-option, 29-yard touchdown pass to Golden Richards to seal the Cowboys' Super Bowl XII victory over Denver.
