Top 10: Head-to-Head Battles vs Bubble Players
As the Cowboys prepare for Thursday's preseason finale in Houston, we came up with 10 head-to-head battles among bubble players fighting for the final roster spots.

At this point, it appears the Cowboys are likely to keep Kadeem Edwards as their primary backup guard. However, Chaz Green got more snaps at tackle this week and his versatility to play both – despite his struggles at tackle last year in Atlanta – might have the Cowboys thinking twice before cutting a former third-round pick.

Back in the summer, both of these guys were expected to make the roster. But other guys around them have either emerged our out-played them. Ward gives them a pass-rushing tackle but Ealy has more positon flex.

This is one of those positions where it seems like a head-to-head battle for the fifth cornerback spot. Then again, one might make it Saturday but the Cowboys claim a better cornerback than both of them on Sunday. Right now, Ward gives up upside while Thomas has return ability.

Can the Cowboys cut Jackson a second time? Do they really want to let go of Scarbrough and what he could develop into? The seventh-round pick from Alabama has the edge but this is a spot where the fourth preseason games could be the deciding factor.

This one is very tricky with lots of factors involved, including the health of both Xavier Woods and Kavon Frazier. They might keep both Johnson and Robinson or none at all. We all know the Cowboys could add a veteran in some way. There's another factor in terms of money where Robinson might be the pick now, but Johnson in Week 2. Stay tuned here.

The answer here is probably both. They might eventually be battling for the backup spot. But if the positions get dicey at other spots, maybe the Cowboys can only keep two here. If so, there could be a tougher decision than you might think.

This is another spot where the answer could be both. Covington, though, is a draft pick and an injury at camp stunted his progress a bit. March-Lillard has done everything they've asked and has been rock-steady. But with the talent ahead of him, he still could be squeezed out.

Probably the hottest discussion on the team right now is what the Cowboys will do with Rico. Some might think this is a true head-to-head, but don't be surprised if four tight ends are kept. Considering the lack of experience at the positon, a veteran could be added. But can either of these guys do anything in Houston to solidify their spot.

This one has flipped in the last seven days, thanks to Lenoir's struggles vs. Arizona and Thompson returning to practice with a strong week. It now looks like Thompson has the edge, also considering he's the best deep threat on the team and the most experienced kickoff returner. But there is a strong group in the building who likes Lenoir so it'll be a tough decision.

Which fourth-round pick are you keeping? This one really isn't that close at all, considering that Armstrong has actually out-played Tapper throughout camp and the preseason. The only thing changing for Armstrong, will be switching from the No. 74 jersey.
