Top 10: Dak Ranks 7th Among 2018 QBs
Each and every week, the Cowboys seem to face a tough quarterback in 2018. But their opponents likely will have its hands full, too. Here are the Top 10 quarterbacks on the field this season.

Alex Smith (Wash) – The Cowboys will see the former No. 1 overall pick in 2005 twice a year now after his trade to the Redskins. Smith has always been an underrated player throughout his career. While he's just 1-2 vs. Dallas, Smith has had a QB rating over 95.0 in all three meetings.

Andrew Luck (IND) – All of the voters commented on this being a tricky selection considering Luck's injury issues of late. If he's healthy, there's no doubt Luck is probably in the Top 5 of this list but that hasn't been the case. But his talent can't be ignored especially if he's 100 percent.

Deshaun Watson (Hou) – Like Luck, he might be higher had it not been for an injury that cut his rookie year short last season. Watson has been compared to Dak Prescott quite a bit because of his playmaking ability. The Oct. 7 showdown in Houston could be a treat for the national audience.

Dak Prescott – While his starting record after two years could possibly put him higher on the list, not having a playoff win under his belt yet will keep him at this spot for now. Prescott is losing some veteran receivers this year but still has one of the NFL's best running games to lean on.

Cam Newton (Car) – A former NFL MVP who has started a Super Bowl, Newton got a No. 2 overall ranking by one voter, but still doesn't get high marks across the board because of his inconsistency as a passer. But he's tough to stop on the ground, being the only QB in NFL history with at least 50 rushing TDs.

Carson Wentz (Phi) – An injury late in the season spoiled his chance to start in the Super Bowl, but it seems clear he will remain Philly's top choice. When the Eagles face the Cowboys the first time in 2018 on Nov.11, it appears Wentz will be healthy again and back in the starting lineup.

Matthew Stafford (Det) – While he's 0-3 in the playoffs, including a loss to the Cowboys, Stafford still puts up huge numbers in the regular season. The Dallas native has two wins over the Cowboys with a 488-yard outing, Stafford's highest single-game passing total in a win.

Russell Wilson (Sea) – The weapons around him keeping going away but his stats are increasing by the year. Wilson put the Seahawks on his back last year and nearly carried his team into the playoffs. He's developed as a passer, making him a danger-russ dual threat at all times.

Matt Ryan (Atl) – The 2016 NFL MVP has one of the best wide receivers in the NFL at his disposal and that scary 1-2 punch makes the Falcons a legitimate threat to score 35-40 points on any night. Ryan also has a strong running game behind him, making him an even better passer for the Falcons.

Drew Brees (NO) – A consensus No. 1 pick on this list, Brees is arguably one of the three best quarterbacks in the game and it's only a matter of time before he'll be giving his speech in Canton, Ohio. But the scary part about Brees is that he's not slowing down. Last year, Brees led the NFL with a career-best 72.0 percent completion percentage.
