Not So Friendly Confines

Sunday marked the second time in the Super Bowl Era that the Cowboys have allowed 40-points or more in consecutive home games (including the playoffs). Despite the loss, Dallas is one of two teams in the NFL without a home loss to an AFC team since the beginning of the 2022 season. Joining Philadelphia as both teams are 5-0 at home against AFC opponents.

Lamar nearly out-rushing Cowboys

While the Cowboys' run defense has to task of trying to stop Lamar Jackson as the NFL's most elusive quarterback, he's also close to out-rushing the Cowboys' running game as a team. Through two games, the Cowboys have just 170 rushing yards, with both Ezekiel Elliott and Rico Dowdle having 56 yards each. Jackson has 167 rushing yards himself, including 122 in the opener against the Chiefs.

Rare Multi-Pick Game

In the Week 2 loss, Dak Prescott had just his second game since the beginning of the 2023 season with multiple interceptions. It was the first multi-pick game for Prescott since Week 5 of last season against San Francisco, and his first at home since Week 14 against Houston.

More History for Aubrey

Brandon Aubrey has made 13 straight field goals from 50-yards or more to begin his career. His 13^th came on the 52-yarder Sunday, passing Blair Walsh for the longest streak in NFL history. Aubrey has also tallied eight field goals in the first two games, tied with Richie Cunningham (1997) for the most through two games in franchise history.

Kamara Has Zimm's Number

Alvin Kamara finished with four total touchdowns on Sunday (three rushing, one receiving), the second time in his career he's finished with at least four scores. His other was in Week 16 of 2020 against the Minnesota Vikings, where he scored 6 touchdowns. Both defenses were coached by Mike Zimmer. Kamara has 14 scrimmage touchdowns in six games against Zimmer as a head coach or defensive coordinator, most out of any player.

Finding a Complete Game

Dak Prescott tallied 27 completions in the loss to New Orleans, his 11^th game since the beginning of the 2023 season with at least 25 completions. No other quarterback in the league has more than eight such games over that same timespan.

The Ferguson Difference

Last season, Dak Prescott averaged 2.7 more yards per attempt and completed just over 8% more of his passes while Ferguson was on the field. While those two numbers went up from Week 1 to Week 2 without Ferguson in the mix, Prescott's QBR took a steep dip from 85.3 to 78.3 without one of his main targets.

Under Pressure

Dallas finished with just six pressures in Week 2 against New Orleans, after notching 25 pressures the week before against Cleveland. It was also the fourth-lowest pressure percentage (35.3) in a game since the start of the 2023 season. Micah Parsons was the only Cowboys to finish with more than one pressure in Week 2 (3).

Uncommon Bird Sighting

Entering Week 3, the Cowboys have only met the Baltimore Ravens six times in franchise history and are 1-5 in those games. All-time, Dallas has at least four wins against every one win against every other franchise in the NFL Their lone win came back in 2016. This will be Lamar Jackson's first trip to Arlington. The last meeting between the two teams was a 2020 contest that moved to Wednesday by the NFL because of COVID-19 implications.

Another CeeDee TD Milestone

CeeDee Lamb enters Sunday with 33 receiving touchdowns in his already impressive career. With one more, he would tie Miles Austin for 10^th in franchise history. Lamb has already entered the top ten in receiving yards. In fact, he moved into seventh last week, passing Frank Clarke on the all-time receivers list.

Tale of Two Halves

Dallas is third in the NFL through two games for scoring in the first half. Only New Orleans (65) and Arizona (41) have scored more points than Dallas (36) in the first half of games. Dallas led the league in that category last season but have struggled to score in the second half of their first two games, tallying only 16 points after the break.
