(Editor's Note: As part of the preparation for training camp, this series will introduce 25 players who are new to the Cowboys' roster, rookies and veterans alike. We'll continue with linebacker Racey McMath.)

How He Got Here: After a solid career at LSU during the Tigers' 2019 national championship run, McMath was a sixth-round pick of the Titans in 2021. He spent two seasons with the Titans, playing in 14 games and totaling just four catches for 48 yards. He joined the Colts practice squad early in 2023 and then was picked up by the Cowboys for the second half of the season. Dallas re-signed him after the season on Jan. 15.

What's Next: Having one of the more unique names in Cowboys history simply won't be enough for McMath to stick around. He's going to have to make big plays early and often in camp, and then make sure it carries over into the preseason games. We've seen plenty of players – whether it's in Oxnard, San Antonio, Wichita Falls, Austin or even Thousand Oaks back in the day – to excel in the practices, only to struggle under the bright lights of a game. For players like McMath, the opportunities will be limited, but like all young players, shining on special teams is a good start to get noticed. At 6-3, 222, McMath is one of the bigger receivers on the team, both in height and weight. He can use that to his advantage around the goal line and also as a blocker and tackler in the kicking game.

Did You Know: McMath finished fourth among LSU receivers during the 2019 national championship season with 17 catches. The three players ahead of him were eventual first-round picks Justin Jefferson and Ja'Marr Chase and second-round pick Terrace Marshall.
